Born October 15, 1911 in Youngstown, Ohio to John and Mildred Stampfel Maracek. Married Irene V. Johnson, June 4, 1933 in Long Beach, California. Served for 22 years in the U.S. Navy retiring as a Chief Storekeeper. He also completed 10 years in the Naval Reserves. Member of the Fleet Reserve Association and a survivor of Pearl Harbor. He loved fishing and camping, gardening and was an avid reader.Survived by his wife of 61 years, Irene; son, Donald W. (wife, Carollyn) Marcek, West Valley City, Utah; daughter, Sharon J. (husband, Al) Schmid, Sacramento, California; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services Thurs, July 28th, 11 a.m., Lake Hills Memorial Park, 10110 So.State Street. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East So. Temple, Weds evening 6-8 p.m.
