She taught high school in New Ulm, Waseca, and Keewatin, Minnesota. She was dean of Women at Whitman College, Washington state, and Dean of Women at Lewiston College (now Lewis-Clark State College) Idaho. She was a professor of English at Los Angeles City College from 1932 to 1958.
