This Back/Bach family is not related to Harman Back (aka Hermann Bach), from Freudenberg, Germany. A significant amount of documented research proves this.

She married John Henry Holbrook, on January 6, 1820. She was only 16 years old. They first lived on a farm next to John's father. In 1841, they moved to some land that is now called the "Hargis Farm." It is located at the mouth of Pan Bowl Branch, across the Kentucky River from Jackson.

They later moved to Hunting Creek, where they lived in the community of Bays. They owned 1,000 acres of land there. Their house had a long porch across the front of it.

Susannah was an excellent cook, and she was well-known for her gingerbread. In fact, when she got older, people called her, "Red Granny, the Gingerbread Lady." (She had red hair.)
