Burr Thompson Dies; Resided Here 60 Years
Burr Thompson, 78, 858 Terra Alta NE, died at 11:35 a.m. Sunday in Trumbull Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness.
Born Aug. 8, 1889 in Ridgway [Kersey], Pa., he was the son of Eugene and Minnie (Frantz) Thompson.
A resident here 60 years, he was employed by Republic Steel Corp. for 38 years, retiring in 1958.
He was a member of Warren Aerie Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Survivors include his wife, Marie (Kilpatrick) Thompson, whom he married May 29, 1912; a son, Lee E. of Champion; two daughters, two sisters, three brothers, eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the McFarland and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
