Roy Thompson
Private funeral services will be held Monday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home for Roy Thompson, 81, 4890 Myrtle Ave, who died Friday at 1:55 p.m. in St. Joseph Riverside Hospital after a long illness.
There are no calling hours.
He was born March 30, 1901, in Pennsylvania, the son of Eugene and Minnie (Frantz) Thompson.
A resident here most of his life, he retired in 1961 from United Telephone Co., where he had been employed 37 years. Mr. Thompson was a member of St. William Catholic Church and the Independent Telephone Pioneers Association.
Survivors include his wife, Madeline E. Strobel Thompson, whom he married Oct. 27, 1901 ; a stepson, Thomas H. Plaisted of Warren; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He had 12 brothers and sisters.
Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery.
