She married Albert "Bert" Calahan on 13 Jan 1878 in Burr Oak, Jewell, KS, and they were the parents of 9 children, George Braten, Mary Pearl, Rutha, Ray Prentis, Charlie R., Lily, Nellie Sinaloa, Orissa Beatrice, and Jerry H. Calahan. She contracted measles when her youngest child was born and had a stroke culminating in her early death a few years later at age 38.
Her husband "Bert" later re-married and died 1 Oct 1934 and is buried in the Oak Creek Cemetery, Whitemound Twp, Jewell Co, KS.
