Small Son of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Bodily Dies Suddenly

Joseph Reed Bodily, three-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. [Olen Orabus Hunting] Reed Bodily died suddenly Wednesday at 12:15 in the physicians office in Vernal where he had been taken for medical treatment.

The little fellow became ill at the Rainbow mine where his father is working and rushed to Vernal for treatment. He had been in the physicians office but a few minutes when his heart suddenly collapsed. The cause of death was croup and pneumonia.

Private funeral services will be held in the Bodily home in Maeser on Friday.

Funeral Services Held At Maeser Friday For Little Reed Bodily
Maeser, Special – Impressive funeral services were held Friday at 11 o'clock for Joseph Reed Bodily, 3, at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Bodily. Bishop Lester Bingham was in charge. Music was furnished by a quartet which sang "Catch the Sunshine," prayer, F. J. Longhurst, duet "I'll be a Sunbeam."

Thomas E. Hall and John L. McConkie were the speakers, each giving words of comfort to the bereaved. Song "Nearer my God to Thee, benediction by Archie Perry.

Joseph Reed Bodily was born April 1, 1930, the oldest child of Reed and Olen Hunting Bodily. He died Wednesday at 12:15 in the doctor's office of spasmodic croup. He is survived by his parents, a brother and sister, besides many other relatives.

Burial was in the Maeser Cemetery. Pall bearers were Sterling and Carl Bodily, Uel and Earl Hunting, uncles of the deceased. Rainbow mine workers of which Mr. Bodily is one of the employees attended the services. Homer D. Ford, foreman, Harden Nelson, Mr. Miller, George Robbins, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Ferrel Pearce, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Ton Eaton, and Archie Perry.
