NANCY J. KIDNOCKER

Nancy J. Kidnocker, age 65, of Chillicothe, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2006 at 8:30 p.m., at her home, following an extended illness.

She was born April 20, 1941, in Morrisville, Vermont, the daughter of Cedric James Liberty, Sr. and Beatrice L. (Williams) Liberty. Nancy grew up in Saint Johnsbury, Vermont, it was here she met Robert E. Kidnocker, who survives. They were married in Littleton, New Hampshire on September 13, 1961 and moved to Chillicothe, OH when she was 20 years old.

Also surviving are daughters, Linda J. Lucas and husband, Danny, of Norton, VA and Karie L. Barber and husband William, of Sierra Madre, CA; sons, Robert E. Kidnocker, III and Peter S. Kidnocker and wife, Lora, all of Chillicothe; eight grandchildren, Misty J. Lucas, Katharine L. Barber, Kristian A. Barber, Nancy Loren Kidnocker, Sarah Grace Kidnocker, Peter S. Kidnocker, Jason R. Kidnocker and Krystal L. Kidnocker; and brothers, C. James Liberty and wife Shirley, Peter T. Liberty and John L. Liberty, all of Lyndonville, VT.

Nancy attended high school at the St. Johnsbury Academy in St. Johnsbury, VT. She attended Ohio University and was a graduate of Career Beauty School in Chillicothe. She worked several years as a cosmetologist in Chillicothe. She was a member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 600 Ladies Auxiliary, a life member of the American Legion Post 62 Ladies Auxiliary, a life member of AMVETS Post 4 Ladies Auxiliary and a life member of VFW Post 10038 in Lyndonville, VT.

Always devoted to her family, Nancy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She happily volunteered her time as a Girl Scout leader and advisor when her daughters were young. She always gave words of encouragement. She faced her illness with strength and courage. Her smile and love of life will be missed by all and an empty space will exist in the hearts of those who loved her.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2006 in St. Peter Church with Fr. William Hahn celebrant. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ware Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Adena Hospice - 111 West Water Street - Chillicothe, OH 45601. or to the American Cancer Society - 870 Michigan Avenue - Columbus, OH 43215.
