Her husband, Carlton D. Adams, Jr. died in 1997. She left 4 sons, Ronald P. Adams of Fiskdale, Peter J. Adams of Spencer, Jeffrey S. Adams of Douglas, and Mark P. Adams of Boylston; a sister, Beverly Mulligan of Maine; also survived by 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sons, Terry, Dean and Dennis Adams; a sister, Helen Walker and her step-father, Clarence Oberembt.
Shirley was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Russell and Irene (Guertin) Walker and had lived in Shrewsbury and Boylston for many years before moving to Worcester. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1938.
Mrs. Adams was very active with the Boylston Senior Citizens when she lived in Boylston. She had several hobbies such as bowling, reading, crossword puzzles and board games and going to Foxwoods.
Relatives and friend were invited to visit with Shirley's family on Tuesday, January 10th from 10-11:00 AM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. A Prayer Services for Shirley began at 11:00 AM. She was be laid to rest next to her husband, Carlton on Tuesday, on her 87th birthday in the Hillside Cemetery, Sterling.
