A funeral for Pauline H. Cooper, 87, of North Pate Street, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Fox and Lake Church of Christ with Anthony Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery. Cooper friends may call 3-9 p.m. Wednesday at Denton-Funchess Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cooper died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at Lakeview Christian Home of the Southwest Inc. Denton-Funchess Funeral Home is in charge of Arrangements. Pauline Cooper was born Wednesday, Dec. 6, 1914, to Frank and Delia Harris Sevier in Glenwood, Ark. She grew up in Glenwood where she graduated from high school and worked in the family restaurant. On April 6, 1935, she married Marley Joseph Cooper in Glenwood. From Glenwood, the family moved to St. Louis where she was a grocery clerk during World War II. In 1948, they moved to Carlsbad and lived here for a year then moved back to Glenwood, then on to Oregon where they lived for 32 years. In Oregon, she worked for Woolworth’s, Montgomery Ward’s and Alexander’s as a sales clerk until her retirement in 1973. In 1982, the family moved from Oregon back to Carlsbad where they have lived since.

Her parents, five brothers and one infant sister preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Marley Joseph Cooper, of Carlsbad; daughter, Ima Jo Craig and husband, Dick, of Carlsbad; grandchildren, Scott Allen Craig and wife, Kellie, of Gilmer, Texas, Steven Dale Craig of Brady, Texas, Darlene Jones and husband, Ron, of Albuquerque, and Stanley Joseph Craig and wife, Janda, of Fresno, Calif.; and seven great-grandchildren.
