Leo was born on July 29, 1890, son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Weber) Wiederholt at Sinsinawa, Wisconsin USA, where he was raised and received his education. In 1910 he moved with his parents to a farm northwest of Lisbon, North Dakota. On May 14, 1924 he married Mary "Edna" Lamblez of Lisbon. They farmed there until they immigrated to Canada on September 20, 1930. They moved to the Oakland District where they farmed until their retirement in 1962. They then moved to Portage to reside. Since March of this year he has been a resident of Lions Prairie Manor.
He was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church. Leon centered his life around his family, home, and church.
Predeceased by his parents, seven brothers and one sister, he leaves to mourn his passing his wife Edna, one daughter Yvonne (George) Laurent and three grandchildren: Robert, Normand, and Louise all of St. Claude, Manitoba. Also surviving is one brother, The Right Reverend Monsignor Vincent Wiederholt of Ardoch, North Dakota; one sister, Mrs. Veronica Schmit of Bismarck, North Dakota; and many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by the family of the late Emil and Ella Lamblez.
