On Sunday, October 9, 1988 at the St. Claude Hospital, St. Claude, Manitoba, Marie Edna Wiederholt of 24-50 9th Street S.E., Portage la Prairie, widow of the late Leo Wiederholt passed away at the age of 91 years.

Edna was born on August 29, 1897 daughter of Xavier and Marie (Grandadam) Lamblez at Ottawa, Illinois USA. The family moved to Lisbon, North Dakota where they farmed. On May 14, 1924 she married Leo Nicholas Wiederholt in Lisbon, North Dakota. They farmed there until September 20, 1930 when they emigrated to Canada settling in the Oakland District where they farmed until their retirement in 1962. They then moved to Portage la Prairie to reside.

Edna was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church and also a member of the Senior C.W.L. She centered her life around her home, family and church. In her earlier years she enjoyed flowers, sewing, crocheting, and quilting.

Predeceased by her husband Leo in 1980; one brother, Emil Lamblez in 1980; she leaves to mourn her passing, one daughter, Yvonne and son-in-law George Laurent of St. Claude; and grandchildren, Robert (Susanne), Normand, and Louise all of St. Claude. Also surviving are; one brother, Laurence Lamblez of Weslaco, Texas; one sister, Margaret Lamblez of Moorehead, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.

Should friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, c/o the Bank of Montreal, Portage la Prairie, Man., or 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Man. R3C9Z9.

Funeral Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Portage la Prairie on Tuesday, October 11th with the Rt. Father Earnest Kamath as celebrant. Soloist, Mary Kohut sang "Ava Maria", "The Lord is My Shepherd", and "O Paradise, O Paradise" with Lorraine Samolesky presiding at the organ.

Pallbearers were Messrs: Mark Lamblez, Charlie Lamblez, Robert Dufresne, Rene Dufresne, Lawrence Caron, and Ronald Caron.

Interment followed in the family plot at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in the Catholic Section.

The Omega funeral Home were in care of the arrangement.
