LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Dora Lee Adams, age 78, died Saturday, January 9, 2016 at White Oak Manor. She was born September 15, 1937 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Samuel D. Hargett and Eula Mae Aldridge Hargett and was the wife of the late Judson Dewey "J.D." Adams. Mrs. Adams was a Weaver at Springs Industries and later became a Homemaker. She loved sewing, photography and traveling. She was also a cancer survivor. Mrs. Adams loved people and animals, especially her poodles, and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

Mrs. Adams is survived by two sons, Daniel Jackson Talbert of St. Louis, MO, and Allen Richard Talbert of Lancaster; a brother, Lewis Hargett of Great Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Adams; five brothers, Floyd Hargett, Earl Hargett, Wade Hargett, Willard Hargett, Winfred Hargett and a sister, Eva Hargett Usher.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Adams will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Eddie Usher. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Fort Lawn.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC and suggest memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association of South Carolina, 4124 Clemson Blvd., Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621 or the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
