He was the husband of Margherita "Marguerita" Lanella Piazza.

Joseph "Joe" Piazza came to America from Italy in 1902. He was in the retail grocery business in Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama. After he retired in 1950, he lived in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama.

JOE PIAZZA

Funeral services for Joe Piazza, 77, who died yesterday at his home at 3404 13th Avenue, Birmingham, will be held at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow in St. Augustine Catholic Church, Birmingham with Father James O'Reilly officiating.

There will be a rosary tonight at ?:30 in Brown Service Funeral Home, Birmingham.

Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Brown Service Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Joe Piazza, and Joe, Frank and Charles Troncale, and his nephews, Pedro and Vincent Piazza.

Mr. Piazza is survived by his wife, Marguerita Piazza; a son, Vincent Piazza, Gadsden; five daughters, Mrs. Joe Troncale and Mrs. Joe Troncale and Mrs. Lewis Saxon, of Gadsden; Mrs. G.R. Cashio, Mrs. Charles Troncale and Miss Mary Piazza, all of Birmingham; a sister, Mrs. Patricia Maniscalco of R:-aquino, Italy; five brothers, John Piazza, Birmingham, Michael Piazza, of Bisaqulno, Italy; Basli Claude and Sam Piazza of Buenos Airs, Argentina; 24 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Coming to America from Italy in 1902, Mr. Piazza was for many years in the retail grocery business in Gadsden. Since his retirement in 1950, he has lived in Birmingham.
