Hazel Carolyn Newman, 68, of Star City died Friday at Drew Memorial Hospital, in Monticello, Arkansas.
She was born August 20, 1946 in Pine Bluff to the late Ernest and Dora Lee Bridges Harper.
She was a member of Lone Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired caseworker with Arkansas Department of Human Services.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Ernestine Harper and Edna Lou Owen.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Carol Lee (Phillip) Tucker of Cornerville and 4 grandsons, Eric Tucker, Phillip Tucker, Jr., Jerry Tucker and Daniel Tucker.
Graveside services are 2:00PM Monday at Leek Cemetery with Wayne Jordan officiating.
Visitation is 5:00-7:00PM Sunday at Griffin Funeral Service.
Pallbearers are Doug Patrick, Butch Woody, Jason Ross, Mark Lewis, Brian House and Johnny Burnett.
