Ernestine Harper of Star City, Arkansas, died Monday at Gardner Nursing Center at the age of 65. She was a daughter of Dora Lee Bridges Harper and the late Ernest Edward Harper.

Ernestine was retired from the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service. She was a member of Lone Grove Missionary Baptist Church near Star City, where she played the piano for over 40 years.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Owen.

Survivors include her mother, Dora Lee Bridges Harper of Star City; one sister, Carolyn Newman of Star City; two nieces; and five great-nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City with Brother Thomas Lamb and Brother Michael Powell officiating.
