Simon had been sick for two years and eight months. All that loving hearts and willing hands could do was done, but we could not keep him. God called him home and left our home sad and lonely. His son, Eather, came from the state of Washington to be at his bedside to help take care of his father, and it was a great consolation and comfort to his father. He helped care for him the last two weeks he lived.
The body was laid to rest beside his wife and children in the cemetery at Pleasant Hill. Funeral services were held at Oak View, Monday, August 14. Rev. V. M. Smith preaching the funeral sermon. The body was in charge of Adams & Casey, Iberia undertakers.
