---Mrs. Weers was born on June 10, 1923, in Marshall to William and Mary (Coats) Ansell. She attended Marshall Schools. In 1946, she married Merle Hopkins. He preceded her in death in 1962. In 1976, she married Carl Weers. He preceded her in death in October 2000.
---Mrs. Weers besides staying home and raising her family she also worked at several different restaurants in the area, and she worked in house keeping at Marshall Tendercare for a few years. Mrs. Weers was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards, euchre, cribbage, and marbles. She enjoyed cooking especially for family gatherings.
---She is survived by her sons, Merle Hopkins Jr., of Los Angeles, California, and Bob Hopkins of Howe, Indiana. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Cathy Woodliff of Homer, Bob (Heather) Hopkins of Tecumseh, Mark (Trina) Hopkins of Fort Wayne, Indiana, four great-grandchildren, Ezra, Tyler, Austin, and Elijah. She was preceded in death by a brother Richard Ansell, and two sisters Lettie Williams and Viola Gallihugh.
---Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Tuesday from 5-8pm with family present to greet friends at that time.
