OLD, HONORABLE CITIZEN IS CLAIMED BY DEATH

It was generally known that Mr. Gerhard Kuck, well known, aged framer living a short distance north of town, had been in ill health for some time, but few of us regarded it as serious, hence when news of his death was learned Monday morning, there were many expressions of regret, for no man in our community stood higher in the estimation of his fellow citizens than did Mr. Kuck, who had lived in this section for a long time. The funeral took place at the Weimar Cemetery Tuesday afternoon, with Revs. Meyer and Hightower, local ministers, offficiating in a touching burial service. Many old time friends of the family were present to pay the last tribute of respect to this worthy, good man.

Gerhard Heinrich Kuck was born in Germany Oct. 1, 1848. He was married to Anna Gundelach, who preceded him in death a number of years ago. He came to America over fifty years ago, and had lived near Weimar fifty-two years up to the time of his death Mr. Kuck was a hortculturist in the old country, and delighted in this work. He followed the occupation of farming up to the time of his death, which occurred Feb. 4 at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 4 days.

His survivors are two sons, Willie and Henry Kuck one daughter, Lena Kuck, and four grandchildren, Will Kuch and Herbert Kuck of Dallas, Mrs. Lillie Williams of Tahoka, Mrs. Clara Bason of Dallas, besides other relatives and numerous friends.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his bereaved ones.
