In a 1929 directory she was living at 1507 Orchelee and taught at Troy Hill School . She last lived at 72 S. Fremont Ave in Pittsburgh PA 15202, and was buried through Assumption Church. She died at age 79. When elderly and having what was a painless medical procedure, insertion of a pacemaker, she screamed the whole time. When her worried niece Jane Elizabeth asked her later about it, Rose confessed it didn't hurt at all, but "I screamed to keep the doctors on their toes." (!)
I think I have linked correctly to her husband's grave, unless there was another Harris Focer. Her parents must have been so happy to finally have a daughter, and so sad to see her life destroyed by mental illness. And back then no one understood what that was, and the mis-attributions to cause, such as blaming the victim, only made things worse.
Dear God, if this is a matter of Thy Will Be Done, I accept it, but I expect you to make things much better for Rose in heaven.
