Rose Jane (Myers) Murren, 80, was a daughter of the late Lawrence C. and Mary Small Myers and was born in Emmittsburg, MD. Her husband Edward F. Murren who she married Nov. 20, 1906. He died Feb 11, 1922.
At her husband's death she had nine children ranging in age from 8 months to 14 years. She purchased a 140 acre farm near Brushtown. She received many awards for her farming and was the first woman in Pennsylvania to receive the Master Farmer Award at the Harrisburg Farm Show in 1941.
Surviving are these brothers and sisters: William Myers, Hopewell, NJ; Miss Emma M. Myers and Amos Myers, Gettysburg; Joseph Myers, Baltimore; and these children: Francis Murren, Hanover; Mrs. Caroline Frederick, Altoona; Elizabeth and Theresa at home; Mrs. Stella Wildasin, Hanover; Mrs. Bertha Bowman, McSherrystown; Mrs. Grace Dennis, Gardners and Brother Simon Murren, CSSC, St. Joseph's Farms, Notre Dame, IN; 21 grandchildren and 19 great- grandchildren.
