Teresa A. Murren, 98, of McSherrystown, entered into God’s eternal care on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at Hanover Hall Nursing Center.
Born May 23, 1920, in Adams County, she was the daughter of Edward F. and Rose J. (Myers) Murren.
Teresa was retired from Klinedinst & Reichart Inc. and W. E. Bittinger Co. in Hanover, and then worked part time for Weis Market in Hanover.
She was a 1937 graduate of Central Catholic High School in McSherrystown, and a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in McSherrystown, the Daughters of Isabella, Notre Dame Club of Gettysburg, and
the John Timon Reily Historical Society. Teresa was a 4-H Leader in Adams County for 70 years and served several years on the Adams County board of directors.
Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and greatgrandnieces and great-grandnephews. She was preceded in death by eight siblings, William, Francis and Elizabeth Murren, Caroline Frederick, Stella Wildasin, Bertha Bowman, Mary Grace Dennis and Brother Simon Murren, CSC.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at Annunciation Catholic Church in McSherrystown, with Rev. Charles L. Persing and Rev. Joseph F. Gotwalt concelebrating. Burial will
follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Edgegrove. Relatives and friends will be received Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, with a prayer service at 8 pm.
Serving as pallbearers will be Angelio Montelione, Richard Dennis, Michael Murren, Carl “Skip” Hamberger, David Murren and John Murren.
