Florence Arlene Anderson, age 79, of Eau Claire died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Clairemont Nursing & Rehabilitation. Florence was born on November 23, 1925, in Eau Claire to John and Amanda (Berg) Nelson of Eleva, Wis.

Florence grew up in the Eleva area and graduated from Eleva High School in 1943. In 1947 she graduated from the Luther Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse.

Florence married the love of her life, Romaine Anderson, on June 13, 1948. They lived in Durand for five years and thereafter in Eau Claire, Wis. Florence worked at Luther Hospital as both a surgical and pediatrics nurse. She enjoyed camping, church activities at Trinity Lutheran Church and was a dedicated wife and mother.

Florence is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Romaine Anderson; and loving children, Teresa Pfeil (Larry), Dawn Marcott (Randy), Dan Anderson (Tammy) and Eric Anderson (Mary). Also surviving are twelve grandchildren; Scott, Sarah, Stephen, Seth, Shawn, Chad, Mark, Anson, Ashton, Heather, Amanda, Ashley; and six energetic great-grandchildren, Rachel, Samuel, Michael, Owen, Maria and Aiden. Florence’s living sisters and brother include, Alice Thomte, Elaine Welge, Esther Adams and Norris Nelson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both her parents; and her brothers, James Nelson and Richard Nelson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Eau Claire with Pastor Andrew Hinwood officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Family and friends may call on Monday, March 28, at Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour before services on Tuesday at the church.

Memorials received will be directed toward a scholarship fund for a nursing student in memory of Florence.
