L. Herbert Christy, 65, 815 Carrol Ave., died Oct 1 about 6 p.m. at Mary Greely Hospital after an eight month illness.
Funeral services were Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Otis M. Severseike of Bethesda Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Born in Champaign County, Ill., Mr. Christy came to Story County about 1906. A graduate of Nevada High School, he has lived in Ames since 1934.
He was employed by the Iowa Electric Light and Power Co. as a service foreman.
As a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church, he served on the Board of Trustees. He was also a member of the Izaak Walton League where he had served on the board of directors.
Survivors include his wife Alice; a son, Larry, Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Mrs. Janet Greiner, Rochester, Minn.; a brother, Freeman Christy, Nevada; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Alexander and Mrs. Lee Alexander both of Nevada and four grandchildren.
