DEATHS

ALICE MABEL ALEXANDER

Alice Mabel Alexander, 86, formerly of Nevada IA, died Monday, March 30, 1987, at Boone County Hospital in Boone IA.

She was born April 30, 1900, at Champaign IL to Jesse Milton Christy and Alice Barbara Rothrock.

She was married to Roy Alexander Feb. 9, 1922, at Nevada.

Mrs. Alexander was a lifelong resident of Nevada until the last five years which she spent in Illinois and Boone. She had been a homemaker.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Nevada, belonged to a Sunday school class and had belonged to Esther Circle of the church since 1919.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at the United Methodist Church, Nevada, with Rev. Mary Green of the First United Methodist Church of Boone officiating. Interment was in Nevada Cemetery, Nevada.

Mrs. Alexander's survivors include a son, Norman, of Boone; a daughter, Shirley Sofranko of Rolling Meadow Il; a sister, Stella Alexander of Nevada; eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy; five brothers and one granddaughter.

Visitation was held Thursday, April 2, at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, 5th St. and Lincoln Hwy., Nevada.
