OBITUARY - Nevada Evening Journal - Oct. 9, 1974
Funeral services will be held from the Ryan Funeral Home Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Marvin Hulse officiating for Freeman Christy, 11001/2 6th St., Nevada who died Wednesday morning at Story County Hospital. He had been in ill health for the past two months. He was 81.
Born September 7, 1893 in Champaign County, Illinois, he was the son of Jess and Alice Christy. He had been a resident of Story County the past 70 years and was a retired farmer and feed salesman.
He was married to Hazel Ferguson on August 22, 1914 in Nevada and wasa member of the Methodist Church here.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Rollo A. Christy of Nevada; three daughters, Mrs. Arletta Austin of San Diego, Calif, Mrs. Muriel Elwood of Miles and Mrs. Barbara Odell of St. Joseph, Mo.' two sisters, Mrs. Lee Alexander and Mrs. Roy Alexander both of Nevada' eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
