John A. Couch Dies Suddenly
Passes away while sitting in a chair at home.
Had just returned to his home after a visit with his son on West Webster St.

John A. Couch died suddenly at his home on South Dickenson st. Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock of heart trouble. His death came with out warning and was a great shock to his family and friends.

Mr. Couch had just returned from a visit at the home of his son, Samuel, on West Webster street, when he complained to Mrs. Couch of being hungry. He ate lunch and walked into the sitting room where he sat down on a chair. Mrs. Couch, who was in the kitchen, shortly heard the deep breathing of her husband and ran to his assistance. George Stubbs, who was passing the house was called in and Dr. Gordon summoned, but before the physician arrived Mr. Couch had passed away. He had been suffering from heart trouble for some time and this was pronounced to be the cause of his death.

The decedent was born in Grundy county, 4 Feb. 1854. He came to Chillicothe with his parents when five years of age and continued to make this city his home. During the past summer he was a member of the police force. In 1874 he was married to Miss Bowles {sic}. To this union three children were born, who with the widow survives; Sam and Elmer of this city, Mrs. Julia Denison , of Perry, Iowa.
Owing to waiting word from the daughter, no funeral arrangements have been made.
