Mrs. Bertha T. Spitze, wife of Julius D. Spitze, of Edwardsville Township, died at about midnight last night after an illness of several years.
Mrs. Spitze was born in Ft. Russell Township on March 10, 1886. She was united in marriage with Mr. Spitze on February 21, 1909. Four sons were born of the union, one of whom died in infancy.
Surviving are her husband, three sons, Norman, Virgil and Murl Spitze, two sisters, Mrs. Augusta Schaake, Lawrence, Kan., and Mrs. August Strohaeck, Brighton, and two brothers, Prof. John E. Stullken, Austin, Tex., and George C. Stullken of this city.
Private funeral services will be conducted at the Marks Weber Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock, followed by public services at the Immanuel M.E. Church at 1:30 o'clock. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev. D.A. Tappmeyer, pastor of the Immanuel Church, assisted by Rev. William F. Sipfle and Rev. A.F. Ludwig, will officiate.
