Charles Allen Billiter, age 37, died early last Friday morning at the Florida State Hospital, where he had been for the past six years. A native of North, S.C., he attended public schools there, later moving to this city where he was employed as a brakeman by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad for a number of years.
He was a former member of Palatka Lodge No. 1232, BPOE. His survivors include his mother, Mrs. Bessie Billiter, Palatka; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Cole Howell, Palatka, and Miss Camille Billiter, Spartanburg, S.C., and a brother, C. T. Billiter, Augusta, Ga.
Funeral services were held here Sunday afternoon at the Davis Chapel with Rev. W. J. Churchwell, pastor of St. James Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill East Cemetery. Times-Herald Obituary dtd Friday, 11 Sep 1942.
