Worley M. Barrett, age 72, of Church Hill, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Barrett was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County, and was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked at the A.F.G. Glass Plant and Cardinal Glass for several years as a construction supervisor having retired in 2001. He was a member of Amis Chapel United Methodist Church and was a member of Clay Masonic Lodge # 386, Jericho Shrine Temple, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Church Hill V.F.W. Post # 9754.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Cradic Barrett in 1976. His parents, Charlie and Roberta Crigger Barrett, and brother-in-law; Kenneth Amis.

Survivors include his son; Brian Scott Barrett of Church Hill, daughter; Sonjia B. Ramsey and husband, Joe of Johnson City. Grandchildren; Bryce and Blaire Barrett of Church Hill, step-granddaughter; Summer Ramsey of Johnson City. Brothers; Roy Barrett, Surgoinsville; Clamon Barrett and wife, Glenda of Church Hill, Randy Barrett and wife, Jeanette of Surgoinsville. Sisters; Wilma Jo Amis of Church Hill, Betty Cooper and husband, Robert of Surgoinsville, Judy Armstrong and husband, Ronald of Surgoinsville.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home, and anytime at the residence of his son Brian Barrett of Church Hill.

Funeral services will be conducted 8 PM Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Gerhardt and Dr. Randy Pressnell officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted 11 am Saturday at the Elm Springs Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the Johnson funeral Home at 10:15 AM. Serving as pallbearers will be David Hunley, Sam Thompson and his nephews.
