SURGOINSVILLE – Roy "Duck" Barrett, 71, passed away at his residence on Sunday (August 26, 2012).
He was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and a member of Amis Chapel United Methodist Church. He was an avid fan of racing and Nascar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie M. and Roberta Barrett; brother, Worley Barrett; and brother in law, Kenneth Amis.
He is survived by his son, Jeff Barrett and his friend, Angie Luster; daughters, Lisa Presley, Tammy Drinnon and her husband, Scott, Vickie Greene and her husband, Edward, Patricia Thacker and her husband, Jeff, Kanima Bradford and her friend, Randy Wilson; brothers, Clamon Barrett and his wife, Glenda, and Randy Barrett; sisters; Wilma Amis, Betty Cooper and her husband, Robert, Judy Armstrong and her husband, Ronnie; 20 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Ollie Parsons.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Johnson Funeral Home of Church Hill and also from 12 to 4:00 P.M. Wednesday at the home of Mr. Barrett, 2383 Carters Valley Road, Church Hill, TN.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Pat Hammonds and Bro. Ed McClain officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Everyone wishing to attend is asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:15 P.M. to go in procession.
Pallbearers will be Rick Christian, Les "Ears" Ryan, Tinker Baker, Neil Castle, Rick Hinkle, Timothy Drinnon, Joe Hall, and Edward Greene. Honorary Bearers will be Ralph Barrett, Bill Waye, and Bob Waye.
