Mrs. Dooley spent her early life near Agency and later moved to Burlington, Iowa. In 1913 she and Earnest Dooley were united in marriage at Ottumwa, Iowa. They have made their home in Jerome since then.
Surviving Mrs. Dooley are her husband, Ernest, a daughter, Mildred, a son-in-law, John Cathcart, two granddaughters, Kerry Lee of Washington, D.C. and Jean Marie, a student at Drake University in Des Moines, two sisters, Mrs. Alta Wilburn, Davenport, and Mrs. Martha Sickles, Eldon, a brother, Orville Hughes and a half brother, William Blachly, both of Ottumwa, Iowa. She also leaves many other relatives who were always welcome visitors in her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ella Suiter.
Mrs. Dooley accepted Christ as her own personal Saviour in July 1927 and found comfort in her favorite verse from Psalms 28:7 "The Lord is my strength and may shield my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth and with my song will I praise Him." She found her delight in her Lord, her family, her home, and in the many lovely flowers she always raised and shared with others.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, October 10 at 1:30 p.m. by John Lewis from the Johnson Funeral Home in Centerville. Richard Strope accompanied by Mrs. Clara Swab at the organ sang "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art."
Burial was in the Jerome Cemetery.
