After school she moved to Minneapolis, MN where she worked in a boarding house. She also worked for the Boeing Company of Seattle, WA on the assembly line building B17 and B29 aircraft during WWII. Later she worked as a nurse's aide in the McVille Hospital. Molfried married Raleigh Anderson on June 26, 1948 at West Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Binford, ND. After their marriage they lived and farmed in rural Tolna. Molfried still had an interest in nursing, and worked as a nurse's aide during the winters of 1960-1963 in Mesa and Chandler, AZ. They retired from farming in 1975, and moved to Glenfield, ND where they purchased and operated a gas station and café. In 1979 they moved to McVille, ND. Molfried and Raleigh moved to Devils Lake, ND and served as house parents for a state group home. They returned to McVille and Tolna for several years before moving to Grand Forks, ND. Molfried lived at Woodside Village since February 2007. Raleigh died on October 5, 2008.

Molfried enjoyed caring for family and friends, her grandchildren, embroidery, singing in the church choir, reading poetry, playing piano, and card games. She also spent time corresponding with her mother's family in Norway over the decades, including her cousin, Inga, and recently, Vidar Aaen. She was always happy to welcome Vidar to North Dakota when he visited.

Molfried will be missed and remembered by her daughter Lorray (Joe) Dervin of Tempe, AZ; her son Connley (Sheila) Anderson of Thompson, ND; 2 grandchildren Jarod Anderson of Kloten, ND and Carrie (Eric) Voightman of Wahpeton, ND; 4 great grandchildren Jacob Anderson, Kalyn, Colin, and Kelsey Voightman; sisters-in-law Viola Flaagan of McVille, ND and Evelyn Hegvick of Fargo, ND, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
