Jarl A. Hegvick, 77, resident of Binford, ND, died January 21, 2004, at the Aneta Parkview Health Center in Aneta, ND. Funeral services were held January 26 in the West Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Binford, ND. Interment will be in the West Prairie Cemetery.
Jarl was born October 18, 1926, in Willow Township, rural Binford, ND, the son of Magnus and Gunda (Hanstad) Hegvick. He was baptized and confirmed in the West Prairie Lutheran Church. He grew up and attended school in rural Binford. He hauled grain for local farmers before he started farming in Willow Township during the 1950's. November 9, 1952, he married Bernice Storkson at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Binford. after their marriage the couple lived and farmed in rural Binford. during the 1970's Jarl sold insulation and worked at Wilrich in McVille, ND, and Cooperstown, ND. In 1973 Jarl retired from farming. They continued to live on the farm until moving into Binford in 2002. In December of 2003 Jarl moved into the Aneta Parkview Health Center, Aneta,ND.
Jarl was a member of the West Prairie Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting deer and going to auction sales.
Surviving members of the family are his wife, Bernice, Aneta, ND; sons, Lu, Finley, ND, and Harvey, Lake Park, MN; two grandchildren; a sister Molfried (Raleigh) Anderson, Tolna, ND; brother-in-law, Harry Storkson, Binford, ND; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Hegvick, Fargo, ND; several nieces and nephews.
Jarl was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Carl, Lewis, George and Carl Norman; two sisters, Margit Arlien and Helga Holm.
