His name is inscribed on the Pennsylvania Moument at Gettysburg National Park, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; Tablet No. 59: D. R. Barrickman; Private; 139th Inf Co C.
He died after being injured while standing at a railroad track. His head and leg were crushed.
According to his death certificate, David was buried September 19, 1913, in Lakewood Cemetery.
