Elizabeth was the sister of Solomon HINDLEY Jr. (1825-1878), who settled in Savannah, and is also buried in Laurel Grove Cemetery.
In 1852 in Effingham County, she became the first wife of
• Henry H. PEVY Sr. C.S.A. from Screven County (son of Guilford PEAVY & Dicey MOORE); she was the mother of the first eight of his nine children. In 1854 in Effingham County, her younger sister, Frances HINELY PEVEY ABBOTT, became the wife of Henry's brother, James PEVY C.S.A., who died in the Civil War.
