Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, October 15, 1976 at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville for Bert Battles, 87, of Hermondale.
A retired farmer, Mr. Battles has been a resident of this area all of his life. He was born in Armorel, and was a life-long Baptist.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Leona Ross Battles, of the home; five sons: Elmer, Freddy, and Russell Battles, all of Steele, J.T. Battles of Joliet, Ill., and Raymond Battles, of Moline, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Bass of Dexter, Mo.; 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, with Cobb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
