Beulah K. Funk, 91, a resident of the Episcopal Home, Shippensburg, formerly of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania died January 17, 2005, in the Thornwald Home, Carlisle.

She was born July 5, 1913, in Newburg, Cumberland County, a daughter of the late James G. and Margaret E. Koser Kendig.

She was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, AARP 2525, Ladies Auxiliary of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post 223, all in Shippensburg, and the Shippensburg Historical Society. She was a former member of the First Court Chapter 470, Order of the Eastern Star and the Shippensburg Civic Club. She was a 1930 graduate of the Shippensburg High School and graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing. She retired as a Registered Nurse from the Carlisle Hospital and had previously worked as Shippensburg Community Nurse and worked in the offices of Dr. John A. Hargleroad and Dr. Derwood L. Stetson, both in Shippensburg.

She enjoyed flower gardening, playing bridge and knitting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Upton L. Funk, who died March 15, 1981; a daughter, Carol Crawshaw Ingram, who died September 29, 1991; three sisters; and a brother.

Surviving are one son, Upton K. Funk of Shippensburg; one sister, Doris Kendig of Chambersburg; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg.
