THOMAS NEVIL CEMETERY

This Photo, taken 13 JAN 2013, show the majority of the headstones and footstones for the eleven known graves in the THOMAS NEVIL CEMETERY. None of the graves have ledgers (or slabs) over the graves so the footstones mark the approximate length of each grave. This Photo taken from the South side of the Cemetery looking almost straight North. All the headstones are facing East, the traditional placement at Christian cemeteries. This cemetery is privately owned by a direct descendant of Thomas Nevil (1808 - 1870) and his 2nd wife, Mary E. Jones (1838 - 1927). The property owner refers to this cemetery as the THOMAS NEVIL CEMETERY. Some other names used by descendants and kinfolks are OLD PETER LOVE NEVIL CEMETERY (the name of the eldest child of Thomas Nevil and Mary E. Jones); LEM NEVIL CEMETERY (nickname of the grandson and great grandson of Thomas Nevil and Mary E. Jones); and THE NEVIL-JONES CEMETERY (used by some because the parents of Mary E. Jones are interred here, and they had a large family with many, many descendants living in this area).
