Bio

Hello! my name is Jerry, I'm the only son and child of my biological father LeRoy Clifford Haugen #39138978. LeRoy had enlisted in the United States Army and had been in military service for 5 years. He had served in both Korea and Japan for 3 of those years with the Eighth Army. He had been stationed at Ft. Sheridan, Ill and later transferred to Ft. Lincoln ND with the North Dakota Military District.

On 6/3/52 he was a passenger in a motor vehicle struck from behind by a passenger bus near Wilton, ND in Burleigh County. LeRoy died from injuries sustained in that motor vehicle accident the morning of 6/4/52 at a St. Alexius hospital in Bismarck, ND.

I have a gold star I've kept in my collection with photos and other memorabilia he brought back from Korea and Japan. After I discovered this website with no information about my father other than a photo of his grave stone, I felt it was important to post some photos I have along with his obituary to honor his memory.

There was 10 children born to Helmer and Louise Haugen according to a newspaper obituary I acquired. They are Bert, Carl, Alfred, Lloyd, Nels , LeRoy, Helen, Lillian, Edith, and Marion Mott.
