My main reason for joining Find-A-Grave was to add photos to my ancestors' memorials and provide information about them. I do not manage many memorials. Those numbers will increase if I find a cemetery that has not been added to FAG. However, I am not into numbers.
You have my permission to use any photo that I have personally posted. If the gravestone photo was taken by someone else who volunteered their time, please give them credit unless they have stated that the photo is not for public use.
I spend most of my time trying to locate family members on FAG - close and distant, but not totally limited to blood kin. I spend a great deal of time linking families' memorials. It is depressing to me to find a memorial with just a name DOB year and DOD year. I link them to their parents, spouses, children and siblings. If they are a veteran, I make certain everyone knows that they served.
I am indebted to the volunteers who use their own time and expense to take photos of gravestones or do local research finding news articles, death certificates, etc. They help preserve history and in some way link us to our ancestors we never knew.
