Bio

Hello!

My name is Chantal Larochelle and I am the person behind Cemetery Photography by Chantal Larochelle. I am a graphic designer and photographer living in Northern Ontario.

I am a member of the Association for Gravestone Studies, and also maintain a portfolio website and cemetery blog, www.chantallarochelle.ca. You can also find me on Facebook and Instagram.

I like to blog about my adventures exploring cemeteries, and what you can learn from them. On the blog, you can find stories about my visits to famous and not-so-famous graves, deeper looks into the symbolism of funerary art, cemetery-related book reviews, and even tombstone recipes!

I have a deep love for cemeteries and graveyards and spend a lot of my free time exploring them. I have been photographing them for over 15 years. I use photography to showcase the details of gravestones and their iconography, as well as highlight interesting epitaphs, and items (grave goods) left behind by loved ones.

As a Find a Grave contributor, I aspire to take the best photos I can for clarity of transcription, location of tombstone, and tombstone details.

I am open to transferring management of any memorial that I currently manage. To request a transfer, please use the "Edit" tab and click the last option called "Submit any other correction or suggestion" to enter your request.

You are welcome to use any photos and information that I have transcribed, for your personal and private genealogical research purposes, but please do not post my photos on other websites without my permission.

Thank you.
