All my ancestors arrived in Pennsylvania in the 1700's and didn't leave PA until later in the 1900's, except one branch (Bury/Buri) arrived in Lehigh, PA in 1885 from Germany. In Pennsylvania my ancestors were primarily in Lancaster, Lebanon, Schuylkill, and Lehigh counties.

I live in Georgia now and take tombstone photos in GA for those who need them.

My surname, Beacher, is derived from an original Bücher and in researching it I founded the Beecher/Bucher Y-DNA project, which has now discovered 14 unique Bucher families in 1700's PA, plus learned that almost all Beecher, Biecher, Beicher, Bicher and Beacher ancestors in the 1700-1850 in PA are one family. One related branch went to Rowan County NC in late 1700s, Henry Beeker (1764-1837). The PA Beechers are not related to the New England Beecher lines (Henry Ward Beecher, Harriet Beecher Stowe, etc.)

I share a searchable database of 25,000 PA ancestors on my website at
