I was born October 22, 1935, in South Bend, Indiana, to Galen R. and Lillian E. "Betty" (Harding) Miller, who were transplants from Constantine, Michigan, to South Bend, Indiana, when my father began work at The Bendix Corporation in 1935. While I was still a student at Michigan State University (then Michigan State College) in the 1950's, my grandmother, Nellie Elizabeth (Johnson)Miller of Constantine, Michigan, stirred my interest in family history by making me the custodian of the Bible of my great-great-grandmother, Sarah Catherine (Owen) Miller. It had passed through the hands of my great-grandfather, John Sherman Miller, and my grandfather, Clyde Eli Miller (both deceased by that time). In the Bible I found written out the birth, death, and marriage records of Sarah Catherine (Owen) and her husband, John Kirk Miller. I was fascinated to think that these people, complete strangers to me until this time, actually were my ancestors, and so started my long interest in genealogy, which took me all the way back to my fifth great grandparents, Frederick and Euphemia (Schaefer) Miller, of Allentown, New Jersey.

I am a graduate of South Bend Central High School, Michigan State University, and Western Michigan University. I have been head of the English Department at Brandywine High School in Niles, Michigan, and a high school Counselor in Edwardsburg High School, Edwardsburg, Michigan. I was delighted recently to discover that "Find a Grave" volunteers had begun work in the Constantine Cemetery, Constantine, Michigan, and I appreciate the work Robert Longbottom has done getting three generations of my Miller family posted on "Find a Grave". He has now kindly turned the Memorials of my Millers over to me. I have much information about my Miller family which I would be happy to share. Related families are Johnson/Smith/Kramb/Spooner -
Eberhard/Young(s)/Fredricks - Harding/Johnson (Swedish)/Uren.
