Do something nice for your fellow photo volunteers. When posting photo requests, please make every effort to include burial plot location. Some cemeteries are not friendly to photo volunteers. Please help others help you and it will be greatly appreciated.

It's been a comfort to be able to "visit" the final resting places of so many of my ancestors via this website. I'm also happy to help others with their requests for photos. Since I retired, I've re-dedicated myself in investigating my family tree, making some amazing discoveries. Information I've found on this website, and the occasional contact from relatives I never knew existed, makes it all so rewarding! There are many on here that comb newspapers just for the chance to create memorials. I am not about "numbers". When I go out to fulfill a request, I try to add photos for adjacent markers - creating a memorial if none exists. If you happen upon one of these, and are related to the individual, I have no problem transferring that memorial to your care. Just let me know!

As we age, we have to make decisions that are in our own best interest. As of December 2024, I am no longer volunteering to take photo requests for nearby cemeteries. I will still be going out there to perhaps add some random photos. If you need someone to take a look at a marker in All Saints, Ridgewood or Memory Gardens cemeteries in the pursuit of your family research, feel free to let me know. If you have the burial plot location, I'd be happy to scout the area out on your behalf. Sray safe!
