Find A Grave ID

I remember when Genealogy had ethics and you posted credits for any images, as well as any research, but sadly the days of respect for others and personal integrity are gone.

Find a grave's ethics have gone down the drain since they were bought out by Ancestry so 3,000 photos I had posted here are now gone. Personal photos as well as ones I had posted of entire cemeteries. Ethics in general seem to be missing in our society as people would steal my photos and post them anywhere they wanted online, with NO credits, as if they owned them. I found some that my name and copyright had been cropped from the photo or just crossed out in black. Its because of those folks my photos are gone.

Originally Find a grave said: "The copyright of all photos posted to Find A Grave remains with the original submitter. No use of photos for any other website or personal use is permitted without the prior consent of the original submitter."

And Ancestry said:
"...Be aware that content, including photographs, even if submitted to a site of which you are a member, belongs to the creator or submitter and you should not reproduce it without permission of the owner..."

"You must not use's products and services to:
...Post, transmit, or display content which is protected by copyright or trademark or that does not belong to you and that you do not have authorization for use from the owner of the copyright or trademark, including but not limited to email messages and notes in GEDCOMs. Read our copyright policy if you have questions...."

Now they allow you to steal and post the photos as if THEY own them. So very sad!

PLEASE USE THE "Edit" tab to communicate about a specific memorial, PLEASE. If you don't know how to do this just ask. Because I get so many requests a week I need to update memorials quickly and the "Edit" tab allows this.

PLEASE send me any additional info, updates and corrections (please provide documentation)on any memorial I have entered,*by using the "Edit" tab*. Happy to transfer a family member in your direct line, as far as four generations out....IF that person is not in my direct line.

If you ask for a transfer, correction or additional info to be posted on a memorial by using a message on this home may or may not get done. By using the "Edit" tab it'll be done quickly.

***NOTE*** I do not link to memorials with "Unknown" burial location. This is FIND a grave so if you can't FIND it, I can't link to it. The rules state that the burial location must be added in 30 days, then I'll be happy to link to it. This is not a free family tree site.
