Margaret M. Sanborn was born 15 Nov 1827 in Barnston, Stanstead, Estrie Region, Quebec, Canada to Nathaniel Sanborn and Elizabeth Heath. This was just about 10 miles over the border from Vermont/New Hampshire.

Both her parent were previously married & widowed with one son each. Her parents then had 11 children after their 1816 marriage in Barnston, Quebec, Canada.

Margaret came to Wis. with her parents in about 1842 settling near Rolling Prairie, Dodge County.

Margaret married first August 1846 to Amasa Hyland, son of Abner Hyland and Relief Crocker. Amasa came to Wis Territory in 1836, later coming to Dodge County. He died 30 March 1848 of bilious fever.

Margaret and Amasa had 1 daughter Celia Sophia Hyland (8-25-1847-12-9-1892).

After Amasa's death 30 March 1848, Margaret married second to Amasa's nephew George Washington Hyland on 28 August 1848.

George and Margaret had 6 children: Alice Hyland, Elson A Hyland, Ella A. Hyland (twins), Harvey George Hyland, Adelbert E. Hyland and Addie Estelle Hyland (one census listed her as Margaret and one as Adelia).

Margaret died 11 August 1862 at Oak Grove, Dodge, Wis.

After her death George remarried to Amanda Malvina Tabor Keysar, widow of Jeremiah Keysar.
