Julia Haynes Hatter (1924 - 2012)

Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Haynes Hatter, age 88 of Jackson, TN, will be conducted on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 2 p.m. at George A. Smith & Sons North Chapel. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.

Mrs. Hatter passed away on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Mrs. Hatter was born August 12, 1924 in Larue, TX to the late Anthony and Lillie Alexander Haynes. She married E. Leon Hatter on June 3, 1944. She earned a Bachelor's Degree at Lambuth University in Jackson and was a Kindergarten teacher for Jackson City Schools. She and her husband were members of the Salvation Army Church before becoming members of Jackson First United Methodist Church where she remained a member until her death.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hatter was preceded in death by her husband, E. Leon Hatter.

Mrs. Hatter is survived by two sons, Bill Hatter of Jackson, TN and Mike Hatter (Jaunita) of Millington, TN; one brother, James Haynes of Texas; five granddaughters, Melanie, Michelle, Molly, Shelby, and Carrie; ten great grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family beginning at Noon on Monday, October 15, 2012 at George A. Smith & Sons North Chapel.
