Anna Lee Chapman
LARUE - Services for Anna Lee Haynes Chapman, 82, LaRue, were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6 at New York Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Mills officiating, under direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens. Burial was in LaRue Cemetery. Mrs. Chapman died Dec. 4 in a Tyler nursing home. She was born Aug. 3, 1918, in LaRue to the late Anthony Samuel and Lillie Emmaline Alexander Haynes, and was a lifelong resident. She was in the first graduating class at LaPoynor High School and attended Henderson County Junior College(now Trinity Valley Community College). She worked five years at Hollywood Vassarette and for Curtis Mathes Manufacturing for 25 years prior to retiring. She was a member of New York Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Robert B. "Bud" Chapman; and sister, Mildred "Mitt" Landers. Survivors include son and daughter in-law, Robert and Ann Chapman, Athens; daughter and son in-law Carolyn and Robert Baron, LaRue; brothers and sister in-law, Thomas Haynes, Weatherford, James Haynes, Longview, and Frank and Gayle Haynes, Murchison; sisters and brother in-law, Alice and Jim Baggerman, Eugene, Ore., Carrie Osborne, Newcastle, Okla., Julia B. and Leon Hatter, Jackson, Tenn., Jo and Dan Taylor, Forney, Hazel Nell and William "Square" Walker, LaRue, and Mary Frances Hall, Dallas; grand daughter LeAnn and husband Shawn Stanfield, LaRue, great-grandson Steven Simmons, LaRue; and numerous nephews and nieces. Pallbearers were Lanny Reynolds, Billy Jack Reynolds, Mark Mills, Mike Ouzts, David Anderson and Ray Smith. If desired, memorials may be made to Jack Mills Evangelistic Assn., 5465 Impala South Road, Athens, 75751, or charity of choice.
