Mr. Campbell, a graduate of Peabody High School, was employed with Virginia State University for over 37 years.
Left to cherish his memory are: five daughters, April Campbell, ZeKita Campbell, Brittany Baskerville, Victoria Campbell and Denise Croft, two sons, Nelson Campbell, Tyrone Croft, all of Petersburg; four sisters, Cynthia Brown (Seitu), Rosetta Campbell, Martha Ann Malone and Gerlene Campbell, all of Petersburg; two brothers, Horace Campbell of Sutherland, Va., and Arthur Campbell of Lacross WS; seven grandchildren, Angelic Bethune, Indonesia Campbell, "Az"Ante Campbell, Enoch Brown, Thaylor Conner, Joshua McLaughlin, and Jailyn Campbell; one great-grandchild, Caden Bethune; three nieces, Vanessa Campbell, Veronica Malone, and Pamela Brown; two nephews, Michael Campbell and Anthony Malone; and a host of other relatives and friends, among them, devoted friends Linda Dixon, Robert "Caveman" Clark, Robert Walker, and John Roberts (Mark).
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Morning Star Baptist Church, with the Rev. Lewis Newbill, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Dinwiddie Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the Chapel of William N. Bland & Son Funeral Home, Petersburg.
